Can I say it again?? NOOOOO!!! I love you dearly, but that is truly nasty stuff that will kill those awesome birds and possibly contaminate your well. Serious shudder. Take all that nasty stuff at once to the toxic waste section of your local dump!!!<br /><br />Blackberries fruit on year-old canes, so if you want to get rid of them, all you have to do is chop them down to the base every year before they fruit. The plants will keep sending out suckers and feelers or whatever, but a vigorous chopping will prevent fruiting and eventually, spreading.<br /><br />I planted a tasty blackberry variety in the strange strip of land between our fence and the street, an odd neighborhood free-for-all.
